More Snow Than Usual Come April 1st

Russ Steele

Ice ages get started when the winter snow survives the summer warmth, and more snow piles on the next winter. The Northern Hemisphere has more snow that usual this spring, and that may delay planting while the snow melts and fields dry out, but I doubt this snow will last the summer.

Here is the latest snow coverage:

Thanks, Russ – interesting and significant, imho.

We will fight for food long before we are covered by ice. Canada is the number 6 wheat producer in the world and they are running out of time to plant this year. Russia and most of Europe are behind as well. Fortunately most Americans can weather at least one year of famine.

Hi, David, I think we are facing 10 consecutive years or more of famine. This is based on history which often repeats.

I agree the fighting for the limited food supply will be the greatest challenge. Hungry people are often irrational, especially when they are concerned about the safety of their hungry children.

Europe has been hit hard. An unusually prolonged winter maintains a severe grip over the Central European Countries.
