Eight Coldest Days of Decade in Last 7 Weeks

Steven Goddard has the details at Real Science in his post:  Joe Bastardi Nailed It.

The eight coldest days of the last decade have all occurred in the first seven weeks of 2012. Temperatures are currently 0.4 degrees colder for the date than any other year in the past decade. Temperatures have dropped almost a full degree since 2010.

Meanwhile, the hockey team continues to ramp up the lies about rising temperatures, and Phil prepares to throw any remaining integrity out the window with HadCRUTv4

Are we on the cusp of the slipper slope of declining temperatures? Stay Tuned!

  1. Are we on the cusp of the slipper slope of declining temperatures?

All signs seem to point in that direction. There is a lag time for the solar effect and I believe we are seeing it now. While weather is not climate, trends are. Europe has seen its worst winter weather since the last little ice age following several unusually snowy winters. Habibullo Abdusamatov is predicting the real cold stuff to arrive by 2014 peaking around 2055. He has identified an approximate 200 year cycle of these events, and we are due one now. Solar cycle 24 is lackluster at best coinciding with cycle 5 during the Dalton Minimum and may turn out worse. Some predictions for cycle 25 is for almost no sunspots at all. What I can’t understand is why there is nearly no media reports on such an historic event. No one alive today was around to experience the last minimum.

    1. There are numerous lines of evidence pointing both to solar waning and it’s effect on climate.

The Bastardi claim is really not borne out by the satellite temps, which only go back to 2002:

Choose the 14,000′ AQUA ch05, enable all years. It’s clear it’s the coolest it’s been
at any time since 2002, but it’s an oscillation that’s already turning up though remaining below past years for now. Just one small nail in the coffin of AGW alarmism.

The satellite measures are a lot harder to fudge.
